Welcome to the home page of Carl Abrams Photography.

Carl has been taking images for many years but was frustrated with the costs and timescales involved with wet film. In 2008, he purchased a bridge digital camera and has progressed through various models to today's 5DMkii. With no formal training, he uses light and composition to create landscape images fit to hang on any wall.

Many hours will be spent pouring over weather forecasts, maps, tide tables and many others. An image is created in the mind days, weeks, even months before visiting a location. Then the waiting starts, setting up in the dark and shooting long exposures of start trails, through the stages of pre-dawn and catching the first rays of sunlight. Dawn is most definitely the preferred time of day.

As with all photographers, Carl is continually developing skills in various techniques, enabling him to make the very best use of every location.
